#15 WVU (18-4) is coming off of a rough loss while #19 Baylor (17-5) is coming off of a two game win streak over Texas and Oklahoma State. It has proved so far this season that it is tough for BIG 12 teams to win on the road. These facts seem to be in the favor of WVU because they do a good job of turning around from a loss and the game is at home, but anything can happen. The game is today at noon and can be seen on ESPNU.
The Mountaineers and the Bears each lost the game played at their stadium last season; Baylor @ WVU 88-75 and WVU @ Baylor 66-64. With both teams still playing for a higher seed in the BIG 12 tournament, it would help for one team to sweep this two game series.
Players to Watch:
WVU: Juan Staten- When teams keep WVU out of the paint, the Mountaineers can count on Staten to score inside the arc. He also a very consistent scorer, averaging 14.8 points per game.
Baylor: Taurean Prince- Being a player off of the bench is beneficial so he can always play fresh. This could be the reason why he leads the team in points per game with 12.1.
Keys to Win:
WVU- The Mountaineers need to use the pressure defense to keep the Bears from having a longer possession time and more scoring. Another huge key will be the inside game; with points in the paint and offensive and defensive rebounding.
Baylor- Baylor has held opponents under 30 first-half points in 16 of 22 games this season, including 10 times at 25 or fewer. If they do this, they will have a good chance of beating the Mountaineers especially with their ability to score.
