The offensive line for the Mountaineers hasn’t always been able to build consistent play over the past few seasons but this season it will feature a few new names but the one to watch to anchor this line is Yodny Cajuste.

Cajuste will anchor the left side of the line as the starting left tackle which is the most important position of the line for an air raid offense. Cajuste has the size (6’6 300lbs.) and tools to be an outstanding tackle for the Mountaineers and has impressed the coaching staff this off season with strong performances.

Cajuste was a bit of an unknown heading into this offseason after redshirting his first season on campus at WVU but certainly was a proven lineman at the high school level. Cajuste came to WVU from the former Miramar High (FL) pipeline and was ranked as a top 50 player in the state of Florida by local scouts. It seemed that he would certainly stay in-state given the amount of Florida offers that he held but he chose to attend WVU.

Cajuste’s first season at WVU didn’t exactly go as planned with him being redshirted given the depth that WVU had this past season.┬áThis season┬áCajuste has asserted himself as the this team’s starting left tackle and with the dismissal of Russell Haughton James earlier this summer, it’s Cajuste’s job to lose but he’s not going to let that happen.

All the pieces have fallen into place for Cajuste to take over and become the anchor of this offensive unit and the Mountaineers offense will be counting on him to deliver this season.
