The 12th-ranked West Virginia basketball team heads to Lubbock on Wednesday night to take on Texas Tech. The Mountaineers (16-3, 4-2) are playing top-notch basketball of late.
After suffering a bad loss at Kansas State, WVU has bounced back with big wins over Texas and Missouri.
When the Red Raiders (12-7, 3-3) and the Mountaineers met earlier this month in Morgantown, WVU came out on top, 66-54.
Freshman Miles “Deuce” McBride dropped 22 points in the victory. He has scored in double figures in nine of 10 games.
Big men Oscar Tshiebwe (11.8 points, 9.4 rebounds) and Derek Culver (10.4, 9.3 rebounds) have been a force down low.
On Saturday, the Mountaineers defeated Missouri, where they outscored the Tigers 50-28 in the second half.
Texas Tech (12-7, 3-3) fell out of the top 25 with their 76-74 overtime loss to No. 13 Kentucky on Saturday in the Big 12/SEC Challenge. In the loss, the Red Raiders made just 3 of 19 from 3-point range against Kentucky.
Texas Tech trailed by 10 but put together a rally before falling short in overtime. Davide Moretti scored 11 of his 15 points in the second half and was clutch during the extra session.
Kyle Edwards had 18 points and seven rebounds.
WVU won four of the last six meetings before the two teams.
Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. on ESPN +.
