Stillwater, OK – Several weeks ago Big 12 head coach Mike Gundy of the Oklahoma State Sooners made headlines for wearing a very politically-conservative news station’s logo on a t-shirt. The photo appeared on Gundy’s social media and it quickly became a situation to be handled in Stillwater.
Gundy’s star running back Chuba Hubbard took to his social media account to express disappointment in Gundy’s shirt and quickly things came to the surface.
After the situation occurred, the Oklahoma State athletic department conducted their own investigation of the Cowboys football program. The investigation brought about a feeling of a missing link with their relationship with the the head coach from about twenty Cowboys football players, something that is crucial to a successful football program.
Following the completion of the investigation, Gundy agreed to take a $1 million pay cut and shorten the term length of his contract from five years to four years.
