Around the Big 12: Oklahoma tops Iowa State, both to play in a New Year’s Six Bowl

The 2020 regular football season came to an end Saturday with the Oklahoma Sooners beating the Iowa State Cyclones in the Big 12 Conference Championship game in Arlington, Texas. The matchup between the two was touch and go throughout the game, with the Cyclones looking like they would be the winners at times.

Spencer Rattler and the Sooners managed to keep the themselves conference champions for the sixth season in a row, while the Cyclones had a season to remember in an unprecedented year.

Now, both teams look to the post-season. The Sooners and the Cyclones are two of six Big 12 teams that have accepted bowl bids for the 2020 post-season bowl games.

Kansas, Kansas State, Baylor and Texas Tech did not receive bowl berths for the 2020 post-season. The first Big 12 bowl game will be Oklahoma State versus Miami on December 29.

The Mountaineers will play in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl on December 31, taking on the Tennessee Volunteers in Memphis, Tennessee.
