Assistant football coaches settling into life as Mountaineers

Monday morning members of the West Virginia media gathered at Milan Puskar for head football Coach Neal Brown’s introduction of the coaching staff. This coaching staff introduction event was hinted at by Coach Brown several weeks prior, during National Signing Day media conferences, and many were eager to get a chance to speak with the coaches and get a closer look at these new Mountaineers as we settle into the new year.

Coach Neal Brown made his way to the team room shortly after 11:00 Monday morning, where he briefly spoke to those in attendance. The head coach took a few moments to introduce each coach, give a few facts about their background and relationship with Brown, then quiet literally the head coach handed over his staff. Coach Brown quickly and politely said he was done talking and to enjoy his staff.

The football coaches spread out around the room and made themselves available, answering a wide array of questions, from personal life, coaching life, coaching style, recruiting regions and how their transitions to life in West Virginia have been. While each coach brings something different to the team and staff, the overwhelming theme from all was eagerness, excitement and great respect for the plan Coach Brown is laying out for this team.

Over the course of the next few weeks, stay tuned to Blue Gold Sports as lead reporters Ashley O’Brien and Shanna Rose recap each coach’s interviews and help introduce the new football staff.
