Beetle Bolden no longer with WVU basketball team

MORGANTOWN,W.Va.–James “Beetle” Bolden has announced that he has left the West Virginia basketball team.

Reports surfaced Wednesday night after the Mountaineers defeated Iowa State 90-75 at the Coliseum. The redshirt junior was not on the bench during the contest.

Bolden has been sidelined since Jan. 26 with a high ankle sprain and has been plagued by injuries all season.

He averaged 12.2 points and made 30 3-pointers in 18 games this year.

On Tuesday, WVU head coach Bob Huggins said that Bolden is scheduled to graduate in May, making him eligible to transfer to another school and play immediately under the NCAA’s grad-transfer rule.
