While the state of football in the fall is still mildly up in the air, the Big 12 Conference has taken matters into their own hands and turned the sports to the virtual world. The conference announced on Monday a true “first-of-its-kind” virtual tournament.
The video game tournament first round takes place July 13-16 in a single elimination qualifying round. One representative from each of the ten schools will then advance to the Big 12 Conference Championship July 18-19. Participants can register stating June 22 through July 10.
The conference’s tournament is just one way students and fans can stay connected while practicing safe social distancing. The Big 12 is partnering with Learfield IMG so that all schools’ likenesses, colors, logos and branding are accurate and available for the e-tournament.
