Big 12 well represented in AP Top 25 after wild weekend

This weekend was nothing short of crazy for the Big 12.

The best conference in college basketball has five teams in the AP Top 25, and two other teams receiving votes. In addition nine of the ten teams in the conference are ranked in the top 60 in NET rankings, setting up for what should be a wild two months.

In week 10 of the AP poll, the Big 12 featured No. 1 Baylor, No. 9 Kansas, No. 15 Iowa State, No. 19 Texas Tech and No. 21 Texas. Add to it Oklahoma who received 122 votes and West Virginia who received 20 votes, that puts 70% of the league within the top 30 programs in the country.

The depth of the league was on full display this weekend as Kansas, Iowa State and Texas all lost. This week, the Big 12 will feature three matchups between teams ranked inside the top 25, and in a conference this deep, anyone can beat anyone on a nightly basis.

Currently, TCU has only played one conference game due to COVID-19, and Kansas State has been playing with a limited roster and without their head coach Bruce Weber for their last two games due to COVID-19 protocols.

Current Big 12 Standings
