Friday, October 21, 2016 Recruiting Rundown

With national signing day one month from today recruits are starting to make decisions. The recruiting rundown gives you the latest information surrounding decommitments, commitments, visits, and pertinent information to the 2015 recruiting class and beyond.

– WVU has lost numerous commitments over the last month. We have removed Robert Landers (committed to Ohio State), William Cameron (decommit), Kendrell McFadden (decommit), and Alex Anderson (decommit) from our 2015 commitment list.

– Former Pitt commit and WVU prospect, Ron Dowdy recently stated that WVU has fallen on his list of potential landing spots due to his recruiter Shannon Dawson leaving for Kentucky. Kentucky consequently is now high on his list. This is the first potential commit that has backed off on WVU because of Dawson leaving.

– WVU is now in the mix for 3 star WR Brandon Martin out of Prime Prep Academy (Dallas, TX). He plans to visit WVU this month and has the Mountaineers as a finalist. Sources say it will come down between WVU and Louisville (offered Dec 1). Miami just got in the mix yesterday with an offer.

– two WVU prospects committed elsewhere in the past week. Tim Irvin (4 star All-American ATH Miamil, FL) committed to Texas yesterday and Tim Settle (4 star DT Manassas, VA) committed to Virginia Tech on 1/2/15.

– Class of 2016 3 star Kennedy McKoy (Lexington, NC) has WVU and NC State as his top two. WVU offered on October 16 and will be visiting sometime this spring.

– WVU offered 2015 2 star DT Kahlil Welsh out of Jacksonville, FL. Welsh has been committed to Wake Forest since November but will now consider WVU with the new offer in hand.
