Bordner Enjoys First Visit To WVU

WVU will have a new look on the defensive line after this season so there is an importance on landing defensive lineman in the 2017 class. One of the more impressive defensive ends in Ohio made his way to campus Saturday and walked away impressed.

Brendan Bordner, a 6’5 245 lbs. defensive end from Hilliard Bradley (OH), didn’t participate in the final WVU camp of the summer but was able to get an idea of what WVU has to offer. “The visit went really well. Coach Tall and Coach Dorchester were the coaches that led my tour around the campus. The weight room and stadium were great to see but I wasn’t able to differentiate between campus and non-campus activities due to students not being in town but it was a good visit.”

Bordner would provide the Mountaineers with depth at the defensive end position which will be a position that WVU needs in this class. Bordner commanded double teams during his junior season and showed the strength to deal with and still pressure the quarterback.

Bordner released a top 8 in late June which showed Boston College, Cincinnati, Iowa State, Navy, Rutgers, Toledo, Vanderbilt, and West Virginia as finalist and after today’s visit Bordner says that WVU is still in the picture. “They are definitely in my top 5 after today.”
