Bracketology Update Before Tech Game

Less than five weeks until Selection Sunday, wow. This season has flown by. It feels like just last week we were talking about how bad the field for the Bad Boy Mowers Crossover Classic was… good times.

ESPN’s Joe Lunardi has continued to put out his “Bracketology” predictions out. Lunardi didn’t think the win over Kansas on Saturday was enough to move WVU back up.

Region 3

  1. Michigan / 16. Sam Houston State
  2. Houston / 15. UMBC
  3. Texas Tech / 14. UC Irvine
  4. Tennessee / 13. Wofford
  5. West Virginia / 12. Toledo
  6. Rutgers / 11. Play-in game
  7. Florida / 10. North Carolina
  8. Xavier / 9. BYU

Big 12 Teams

  • Baylor – 1 Seed
  • Texas – 3 Seed
  • Texas Tech – 3 Seed
  • Oklahoma – 4 Seed
  • West Virginia – 5 Seed
  • Kansas – 6 Seed
  • Oklahoma State – 8 Seed

Once again, WVU is pinned at the 5-seed. They need to at least win one game, if not both games, this week against No. 7 Texas Tech and No. 12 Oklahoma. WVU just needs to get out of the potential 5/12 first-round matchup.

Lunardi did announce on Twitter this morning that the winner of WVU/TTU is essentially a spot for a 3-seed.

Big game in Lubbock tonight!
