Bracketology Update Before WVU’s Busy Week

As we enter the final two weeks of the regular season, resumes and numbers couldn’t be any more important. Luckily for the Mountaineers, their resume is looking pretty good right now.

ESPN’s Joe Lunardi has kept West Virginia at a 3-seed but he has them close to moving up to a 2-seed. If the Mountaineers sweep TCU, No. 2 Baylor and Kansas State, expect Lunardi to move WVU up later this week.

Region 4

  1. Ohio State / 16. James Madison
  2. Alabama / 15. UMBC
  3. West Virginia / 14. Wright State
  4. Virginia / 13. Winthrop
  5. Texas Tech / 12. Play-in game
  6. Tennessee / 11. St. Bonaventure
  7. Clemson / 10. Maryland
  8. Florida / 9. Oregon

The same region as last week. I touched upon the topic of being in the same bracket with Ohio State and Alabama. Click here to read about it!

Big 12 Seeds

  • Baylor – 1 Seed
  • Oklahoma – 3 Seed
  • West Virginia – 3 Seed
  • Kansas – 4 Seed
  • Texas – 4 Seed
  • Texas Tech – 5 Seed
  • Oklahoma State – 8 Seed

I’m surprised Oklahoma State didn’t move up a seed after their overtime win over Texas Tech last night. The Big 12 teams will end up being under seeded due to everyone (but Baylor) beating up on each other. Realistically, WVU and Oklahoma can both be 2-seeds, but when they lose to quality opponents in conference it’s hard to move up.

Texas Tech and Oklahoma State will be dangerous teams if they end up with the seedings they currently have.
