MORGANTOWN, W.Va.–West Virginia sophomore Brandon Knapper entered his name in the transfer portal on Friday.
Knapper has spent three seasons with the Mountaineers, including one in which he redshirted because of a knee injury.
The 6-foot, 185-pound point guard appeared in all 32 games for the Mountaineers and averaged five points per contest during his redshirt freshman campaign.
This year Knapper played in 28 of WVU’s 31 games, averaging 8.1 minutes per game. Over the latter part of the season his production dropped to 2.5 points per game while averaging less than one assist per game.
During the month of February, the South Charleston native’s minutes dipped significantly. In the final six games he played single-digit minutes.
