MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – (June 1, 2021) — WVU men’s basketball guard Taz Sherman announced from his social media accounts on Tuesday afternoon that he will be returning to West Virginia for the 2021-22 season.
Sherman is going to take advantage of the extra year of eligibility that was granted to athletes by the NCAA due to COVID.
The Missouri City, TX native was third on the team in scoring last season for the Mountaineers, averaging 13.4 points per game in 28 games. Sherman shot 41 percent from the field, 35 percent from three and 87 percent from the free throw line in the 2020-21 season.
The two seniors from last year’s roster—Sherman and Gabe Osabuohien—are both returning for WVU for 2021-22. That leaves everyone waiting on just Miles ‘Deuce’ McBride and Sean McNeil on their decisions regarding their future with West Virginia.
