MORGANTOWN, W.Va. –Junior defender Jordan Brewster of the West Virginia University women’s soccer team has been named to the 2020 Preseason All-Big 12 Soccer Team, the conference announced on Thursday.
Brewster has twice been named to the All-Big 12 Second Team, including last season, where she finished with one goal and two assists in 1,994 minutes of action. Defensively, she aided the Mountaineers in collecting nine shutouts.
The North Canton, Ohio, native started all 22 games for the Mountaineers in 2019, helping the squad to its 20th consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament.
Five other Big 12 schools – Kansas, TCU, Texas, Texas Tech and Oklahoma State – also were represented with honorees on the preseason team, as voted on by the league’s 10 head coaches. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own players.
Brewster, who has started all 45 games of her WVU career, is one of 13 returning letterwinners for the Mountaineers this season, as well as one of eight returning starters.
