NORMAN, Okla.–Aaron Calixte and Jamal Bieniemy each scored 22 points as Oklahoma knocked off West Virginia 92-80 on Saturday afternoon.
Kristian Doolittle chipped in 15 points and Brady Manek had 14 for the Sooners (18-11, 6-10 Big 12).
Trailing by as many as 23, the Mountaineers (11-18, 3-13) used a 27-13 run to cut the deficit to just nine.
With 2:56 seconds left, Jordan McCabe drained a 3-pointer, pulling WVU within 80-71. However, the Sooners managed to keep the Mountaineers at an arm’s length and lock down the victory.
Jermaine Haley led WVU with 23 points. McCabe had 18 while Derek Culver had nine points and nine rebounds.
Oklahoma fell behind in the early before going on a 13-1 run to take a 42-28 lead at the break. The Sooners shot 58 percent in the first half.
The Mountaineers outrebounded Oklahoma 35-27.
WVU forced 16 turnovers but also had 17 miscues.
The Mountaineers shot 42 percent from the floor, 39 percent from beyond the arc and 68 percent from the free throw line
The Sooners shot 59 percent from the field, 48 percent from long range and 83 percent from the line.
WVU returns home to the Coliseum for the final game of the season against Iowa State on Wednesday.
