It has been a rough weekend for the Mountaineers with the season ending injury to Dravon Askew-Henry and now the unknown surrounding Adam Pankey but WVU received good news this afternoon with the commitment of Chris Hunt.

Hunt, a 6’1 165 lbs. defensive back from Bayside (VA), will provide the Mountaineers with another complementary piece to their already impressive defensive backfield commits in the 2017 class. Hunt has the length that WVU likes in their defense backs and has the speed (4.5 40 time)┬áto cover any receiver in the Big 12. Hunt joins DeAmonte King, Eugene Brown, Collin Smith, Ricky Johns, and Alex Woods as commits for WVU in this class with a couple more prospects still on the WVU board.

Hunt visited WVU earlier this summer as part of the 7 on 7 tournament with the Bishop Sullivan team that won the overall championship. Hunt caught the eye of the Mountaineer coaching staff during that visit and earlier this week, Coach Adams extended the offer and Hunt immediately announced that he would announce today.

Hunt committed to WVU over offers from Charlotte and East Carolina with Clemson, Tennessee, and Virginia Tech showing interest in Hunt.
