D1 WVU Ice Hockey Take Solid Start Into Winter Break

After a 6-1 victory over Penn State – Berks earlier this week, the WVU Men’s Division 1 Hockey team enter the winter break with a 12-10-0-0 Record, which is good for 3rd in the College Hockey Mid-American Conference (CHMA). Forward Tracy Bray (#13) leads the Mountaineers with 22 points (11 goals and 11 assist), which is 8th best in the CHMA, followed by Forward Gerard Clayton (#20) has 21 points (12 Goals and 9 Assist) which is 9th best in the CHMA. ¬†Goalie Eric Schaetzle (#1) is allowing 3.37 Goals per game, and currently has a 89.4 save percentage in 16 games played. The Mountaineers are 3-2 in his 5 starts, and in those 3 wins, Eric has only allowed 1 goal in each win.

The Mountaineers return to the ice on January 9th at Delaware.
