Defensive Back Prospect Performance Noticed By Staff

DB prospect Darnell Lanier attended the WVU camp this past weekend and it didn’t take long for the talented prospect to catch the eye of the Mountaineer coaching staff. “The camp had a lot of good competition so I came with my A game” was Lanier’s response about his performance at the WVU camp.

“The camp was a great experience. I really liked the coaching and the stadium was nice” Lanier said upon being asked about the experience at WVU. Lanier is considered one of the top safety prospects in the state of Michigan and he feels his skills would translate well into the WVU 3-3-5 scheme. “As a hybrid safety I can cover and help with run and with my understanding I really feel like I would fit in their defense.”

Lanier is hoping for an offer from WVU in the near future and will schedule an official visit if he receives one.
