Did you know: That was not the first time for WVU basketball

Philip baylor-1The West Virginia Men’s Basketball team are coming off two straight victories over ranked opponents. Did you know that is not the first time this has happened in Big 12 play?

Last season the Mountaineers upset #8 Kansas at home 62-61 on February 16th before traveling to Stillwater, Oklahoma five days later to defeat the #22 ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys 73-63.

This was, however, the first time the Mountaineers have defeated two straight ranked opponents to take the outright lead in the Big 12 Conference. Furthermore, it is the first time since 1957 the Mountaineers have defeated two straight top 15 teams.

Lastly, if the Mountaineers can beat Kansas tomorrow night it will be the first time in the Coach Huggins era that WVU has won three straight games over ranked opponents.
