Doug Cross releases first WVU highlight video in two years

Morgantown, W.VA. – Ask any West Virginia fan about their favorite player highlight videos and one name comes to mind: Doug Cross. Cross is the man behind the Tavon Austin highlight video, a video that many consider to be one of the best, if not THE best college football highlight videos in recent history.

Austin’s highlight video, created by Cross, has 19 million views since it was created and uploaded to YouTube seven years ago.

Cross’s highlight videos are a staple among Mountaineer fans across the country, so much so that Cross spent time working with the university in a multimedia position. It’s been roughly two years since Cross has graced college football (and obviously West Virginia fans) with a new college football highlight video and last week that waiting period ended.

Following a stellar 2019 season, redshirt freshman receiver Sam James is the subject of Cross’s first new West Virginia highlight video in two years. In just three minutes, Cross manages to bring back the excitement of West Virginia football, highlighting James’s explosiveness on the field and making everyone (I’m speaking for myself and pretty much any Mountaineer I know) wanting West Virginia football back basically right now.

Take a look at the new highlight video. Who do we think Cross should do a highlight video of next?
