MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (August 7, 2019) – Senior goalkeeper Rylee Foster and sophomore defender Jordan Brewster of the West Virginia University women’s soccer team were named to the 2019 Preseason All-Big 12 Team, as announced by the league on Wednesday.

Foster was named an All-Big 12 First Team honoree in 2018, while Brewster earned All-Big 12 Second Team and Big 12 All-Freshman team accolades last season.

Six other schools are represented on the team, led by Texas with four honorees. Texas Tech and WVU both received two selections, while Baylor, Oklahoma State, TCU and Oklahoma had one selection each.

The Big 12 Conference coaches selected the team members and were not permitted to vote for their own players.

A 2019 MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List honoree, Foster is set to begin her fourth consecutive season as the Mountaineers’ starting goalkeeper. She started all 23 matches in 2018, logging 2,134 minutes in goal, ranking No. 4 nationally and No. 3 in a single season in program history.

A native of Cambridge, Ontario, Foster earned credit for 11 of WVU’s 12 shutouts last season, the most in the Big 12 and No. 8 in the country.

Brewster started all 23 matches at outside back in 2018, ranking fourth on the team with 2,088 minutes of action. The North Canton, Ohio, native finished the season with eight points (2 G, 4 A).

Named to the 2018 TopDrawerSoccer Division I Freshman Best XI First Team, Brewster ranked No. 4 on the team with four assists last year.
