Irving, Texas – After combining for a 6-0 record during Thanksgiving week, juniors Perry Ellis (Kansas) and Jonathan Holton (West Virginia) are the latest winners of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively. Ellis is recognized for the third time in his career, while Holton is honored for the second consecutive week.

Kansas won four games last week, including the championship of the Orlando Classic, with Ellis leading the way for the Jayhawks. The junior forward scored at least 17 points in every outing on the week, averaging 18.8 points and 7.5 rebounds. His top performance came against Tennessee, as he finished with a season-high 24 points and 13 boards. Ellis shot 48.9 percent (23-of-47) from the field and 71.1 percent (27-of-38) from the free throw line in the four contests and was also named MVP of the Orlando Classic.

Holton averaged 17.5 points and 8.0 rebounds in a 2-0 week for the Mountaineers. The junior forward recorded his second double-double of the season with game highs in points (21) and rebounds (10) against the College of Charleston. Earlier, he posted 13 points, seven rebounds, four blocks and three steals in a victory over VMI. Holton made 14-of-22 (.636) from the floor in two games and 5-of-6 (.833) from the charity stripe. He is one of three Mountaineers in the top 20 in the conference in scoring, ranking second on the team with 12.9 points per game.
