Quinton Spain is gearing up to launch his foundation by hosting not one – but two different youth camps this summer.
While the Titan’s guard is becoming a favorite in the Nashville community, he also does not forget where he came from. He will host one camp in Nashville, and then another a couple weeks later in his hometown of Petersburg, VA.
“We have some off time in the summer, and I’d like to spend it doing something that will help others,” Spain told WVUPros. “Working out, gearing up for the season, and getting to show the kids how much fun football and being part of a team can be. I can’t think of anything much more exciting for me right now.”
Growing up in Petersburg, he never got the opportunity to do any youth camps or have anyone who achieved football success come back and encourage him and his classmates. His inspiration comes from being able to provide opportunities that he never had himself.
Spain visited three different youth encouragement facilities to spread the word about his camps and spent time hanging out with under privileged youth.
Chick-fil-A in Smyrna, TN also hosted a Quinton Spain night on Tuesday, May 31st where he signed autographs and took photos with the children of the community.
He has also been busy on somewhat of a media tour to get the word out – visiting various television stations and radio programs over the past couple of weeks.
Spain hopes to be able to add another camp down the road in one of the other places he considers instrumental to his success – Morgantown, WV.
