The day has finally came! Today, Thursday, July 29 is the 2021 NBA Draft, which means former WVU guard Miles “Deuce” McBride will hear his name called inside the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.
The final mock drafts from all of the analysts are being put together as the clock ticks down to the final hours of the first pick.
McBride has been receiving a lot of positive feedback from his draft combine event that he participated in June. McBride—who declared for the NBA draft weeks after the round of 32 exit in the NCAA Tournament—has seen his draft stock rise from early-second round projections to late-first round. Some analysts have even put McBride right out of the lottery picks (1-14).
As a sophomore, McBride averaged 15.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.9 steals. A 30-point performance in the first round of the NCAA Tournament against Morehead State propelled his draft stock to rise just as a second-year player.
Let’s take a final look at where insiders have projected McBride to go.
The Athletic – 28th overall to Philadelphia
Bleacher Report – 28th overall to Philadelphia
CBS Sports – 31st overall to Milwaukee
ESPN – 30th overall to Utah
NBA Draft.net – 24th overall to Houston
Sports Illustrated – 27th overall to Brooklyn
To catch McBride and his journey to the NBA, tune into ESPN or ABC for the first round of the NBA draft on Thursday night at 8 p.m. The second round coverage will be solely on ESPN.
