MORGANTOWN, W.Va.—Former West Virginia University basketball player James Long was named head coach of the WVU Tech men’s basketball team on Wednesday.
Long played for the Mountaineers from 2014-17 and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in finance. During his time at WVU, the Charleston native became a member of the Academic All-Big 12 Men’s Basketball First Team.
Long earned spots on the Garrett Ford Academic Honor Roll and Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
Since graduating, Long has served as the Mountaineers’ video coordinator.
