Former West Virginia golfer Etienne Papineau qualified for the PGA Tour Waste Management Phoenix Open after shooting five-under par during the Waste Management Qualifier at McCormick Ranch Golf Club.
Papineau is the second WVU golfer to qualify in a PGA Tour event this year. Max Sear qualified for the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines Golf Course in January.
Papineau played at West Virginia from 2016-2021, and had the program record for the lowest tournament total until Mark Goetz broke his record last October.
