Class of 2022, four-star quarterback Nicco Marchiol announced today that he will be committing to West Virginia University.
Marchiol is a native of Chandler, Arizona, who received offers from many top teams around the country. Many suspected that his final decision would be between West Virginia, Michigan State, and Arizona State. Marchiol is also the highest rated quarterback commit since Geno Smith in 2009.
According to MaxPreps, this past season Marchiol threw for 1,417 yards, and 11 touchdowns, while also rushing for six touchdowns as well in only eight games played.
During his official visit a few weeks prior to his commitment, Marchiol seemed very impressed with the football program at WVU as well as the campus and administrators.
In a tweet Marchiol said he loved hearing from President Gee and it has been rumored that Marchiol would commit to WVU ever since his official visit.
West Virginia currently ranks No. 36 on 247sports’ recruiting rankings, but with the commitment of Marchiol it should only get higher as West Virginia will look to be a premiere destination for recruits.
