West Virginia University pitcher Jackson Wolf was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 4th round of the 2021 MLB Draft.
Wolf was the ace and one of the only bright spot’s from this past year’s Mountaineer baseball team and will look to compete on the next level.
Wolf finished this past season with a 3.03 ERA, a 6-5 record, 104 strikeouts, while allowing 66 hits and 37 walks, in 89 innings pitched. Wolf was also named to the All-Big 12 Second Team this past season.
In his career at West Virginia, Wolf threw 208.2 innings, while striking out 205, and allowing 84 earned runs in his career.
Wolf will look to join Alek Manoah as recent pitchers too get drafted out of West Virginia and reach the major leagues.
