Jevon Carter scored 25 points and the West Virginia Mountaineers won their second game in the Bahamas, 109-62, against the Atlantis All-Stars at the Sir Kendal Isaacs Gym on Wednesday night.
Carter was 9-of-12 from the field, including 4-of-7 from 3-point range his game-high total. The sophomore guard also had a game-high eight steals.
The Mountaineers’ defense came out blazing, forcing 47 turnovers and converting 34 steals.
West Virginia scored 40 points off of turnovers. The Mountaineers dominated Atlantis in the paint 60-34.
James Bolden tallied 16 points for West Virginia. Tarik Phillip added 12 points. Esa Ahmad and Devin Williams each had 10.
The Mountaineers went on a 9-0 run at the end of the first quarter to take an 18-11 lead. West Virginia had a commanding 57-27 lead at the half.
Michael Bail led Atlantis with 17 points and eight rebounds. Gameliel Rose and Livingston Munnings each had 10 points apiece.
The Mountaineers will close out their summer exhibition tour of the Bahamas on Thursday against the CTG Knights.
