JUCO Point Guard, WVU Showing Mutual Interest

With the graduation of Gary Browne and Juwan Staten at the end of the season Coach Huggins and the Mountaineers will be looking to replace two key players. One of those players could be JUCO point guard Mike Rodriguez from Marshalltown (IA) C.C.

The 5’11 guard was recently contacted by Coach Huggins after meeting with assistant coach Ron Everhart who informed Mike the Mountaineers liked how he played.  Although there was no offer extended there is mutual interest between the guard and WVU.

WVU is expecting to visit Rodriguez soon and in turn is expected to receive a visit from him after the season.

Despite already signing 3 star guard James Bolden out of Covington, Kentucky WVU may be looking to add further depth at that position in the 2015 class.

Rodriguez is averaging just over 22 points per game and 6 assists this season for Marshalltown (16-5) and is slowly starting to see his recruitment pick up. Aside from WVU Rodriguez is also receiving interest from Colorado State, Manhattan, and East Tennessee State.
