WVU’s Karl Joseph, who was taken 14th overall in the 2016 NFL Draft, has officially signed his rookie contract with the Oakland Raiders. Joseph was one of three draft picks signed by the Raiders on Monday.
Joseph has reportedly signed a four year contract with a fifth year option totaling just under $11.9 million over its duration. That number also includes a $6.8 million signing bonus.
According to the Mercury News, Joseph will not be a full participant in rookie mini-camps but is slated to be ready for training camp. The Raiders have made it known that Joseph is projected to be a started for the beginning of the 2016 season where he will play with fellow Mountaineer Bruce Irvin.
Joseph also received his jersey number yesterday, being giving former Raiders great and hall of fame safety Ronnie Lott’s #42.
Joseph said in a video interview with the Raiders on Monday, “I’m going to come in, work hard, get healthy.” Joseph became the fourth Mountaineer to sing a rookie contract. Joseph was also tabbed by ESPN as one of three Mountaineers to be their new team’s best rookie.
The only thing for Karl Joseph to say once the contract has been signed? https://t.co/BSKBVwEYt0
