The Chicago Bears traded up to the 113th overall pick to select LB Nick Kwiatkoski, who will provide the Bears with more depth at the linebacker position which is an area that they had set out to upgrade this offseason.
Kwiatkoski was the leader of the WVU defense over the past few seasons and his skill set translate to the NFL level. He has the run-stuffing ability that NFL teams want in a linebacker but also has the speed to drop into coverage against tight ends which upgrades his value. It doesn’t seem that he will be counted on to step in and play right away which could be very beneficial to him.
Kwiatkoski becomes the 3rd Mountaineer selected in the 2016 NFL Draft and joins fellow Mountaineers Kevin White and Ryan Mundy on the roster.
