Mario Alford Heads To Cincinnati

With all the attention of Kevin White during his senior season at WVU, Mario Alford still managed to put up good number as the second option. Alford used those numbers and blew people away at the WVU Pro Day to become a Cincinnati Bengals with the 238th pick.

Alford, 5’8 180lbs., doesn’t have the biggest frame but makes up for that with his blazing speed (4.27 40 time). Alford doesn’t project to be a go to wide receiver but more as a complimentary piece to a offense and a return specialist.

This makes for an interesting situation for Alford with the Bengals already having the return game in the hands of Adam Jones and Brandon Tate but are a team in need of a slot receiver behind A.J. Green and Mohamed Sanu. Both provide the Bengals with big time down the field threats that could open the field up for Alford on underneath routes.
