MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (Nov. 2, 2020) – After notching a fourth-place finish at the 2020 Big 12 Championship on Oct. 30, sophomore Ceili McCabe of the West Virginia University cross country team has been named the WVU Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by University Apartments.
McCabe paced the Mountaineers at the conference meet, crossing Kansas’ Rim Rock Farm cross country course with a 6k time of 20:55.9. Her fourth-place finish marked a career best.
The Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, native was one of three Mountaineers to place inside the top 15, earning All-Big 12 accolades. The honor was the second of McCabe’s career.
As a team, West Virginia finished in third place at the conference meet for the second consecutive season, notching 66 team points.
