Jedd Gyorko- Gyorko had two dingers on Friday night against the Pittsburgh Pirates. In his last seven games, the third baseman tallied five hits, three home runs and three RBI. Gyorko average on the season is a .262 clip.

Ryan McBroom- The Kansas City first baseman had another big week for the Royals. On Saturday he became the first AL player with a pinch hit in three straight games since 2009 and the first KC player to do it since 1986. His home run on Saturday was the third pinch hit one of the season. The former Mountaineer went deep on Wednesday and Saturday. McBroom’s batting average is now at .327.

John Means-Means took the mound for the Orioles on Friday. He threw 77 pitches, his high for the year and allowed two runs on four hits. The left hander allowed four homers in his last two starts, including back-to-back long balls in the fourth to Vlad Guerrero and Teoscar Hernandez. Means looked better than he had in recent starts but his fastball still wasn’t on point. The performance dropped his ERA to 8.59.
