Jedd Gyorko- The former Mountaineer third baseman saw lots of action the final week of the season. Gyorko had four hits and a home run during that time. On the season, he hit .248 with nine home runs and 17 RBIs in his first season in Milwaukee. The Brewers will battle the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Wild Card Series.
John Means- In his final game of the regular season, Means pitched six innings. He gave up one run and just one hit while fanning nine. The southpaw took a no-hitter into the sixth inning but Cavan Biggio’s solo shot with two outs put the first run of the game on the board and the Orioles were unable to the the game tied back up. After a rough start to the year, Means finished with a 2-4 record and a 4.53 ERA in 10 starts for Baltimore. He tallied 42 strikeouts and walked just seven batters.
Ryan McBroom- The first baseman was called back up for the final week of the regular season. McBroom appeared in the Royals’ final two games, where he hit a solo home run in the final game against the Detroit Tigers. McBroom finished the season hitting .247 with six home runs and 10 RBIs for Kansas City. He appeared in 36 games, including nine starts at first base, eight as the designated hitter and two in left field.
David Carpenter, Michael Grove and Alek Manoah were all a part of the 60-man player pool this summer but remained at the alternate training sites.
