Mountaineer Mascot to serve through 2021-2022 school year

Morgantown, W.VA. – The role of the Mountaineer mascot is highly regarded at West Virginia University, and throughout the State of West Virginia. Donning the buckskins is a right afforded to just a few and a treasured year for that lucky person.

The role of Mountaineer this year is a trying role. Colson Glover, and his alternate Brooke Ashby, will get to wear the buckskins for a second term through the 2021-2022 season in light of the pandemic drastically altering the 2020-2021 calendar.

While it is still unknown how much of the sports world will be truly affected, or even canceled, the university has made the decision to give the two a second year in hopes of getting the full experience of being the Mountaineer.
