Mountaineer Receiving Duo Hints at Departure

Following a tough bowl loss to Minnesota, two WVU wide receivers put out tweets that alluded to leaving the program.

Winston Wright Jr. has proven to be one of WVU’s most talented offensive weapons over the past three years.

In his junior season, Wright Jr. caught 63 passes for 688 yards and five touchdowns. Wright Jr. also has accounted for two kickoff return touchdowns in his career at WVU.

Wright Jr. caught three passes for 16 yards in WVU’s loss to Minnesota in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl on Tuesday.

Sean Ryan is a senior for WVU’s football team, but with the COVID-19 rule, he could have another year of eligibility if he wanted to use it.

Ryan caught 25 passes for 399 yards and three touchdowns this season. He caught three passes for seven yards in the bowl game on Tuesday.

These departures would be another big hit for Neal Brown’s offense, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
