Ali Jennings will reportedly enter the NCAA transfer portal, the second-year Mountaineer wideout announced on Twitter today.
Despite having a productive freshman campaign where he reeled in 19 receptions for 192 yards, Jennings struggled to keep a consistent presence in the offense, finishing the season with just seven receptions.
Jennings suffered a hamstring injury during fall camp, causing him to miss the first few games of the season.
With the free year of eligibility granted by the NCAA, Ali will have three years of eligibility left and an additional redshirt year if he chooses to use it.
Jennings was a three-star WR coming out of Highland Springs, Virginia. He had other offers from Michigan State, North Carolina and Temple.
While players can still exit the portal and remain with the team if the head coach decides to retain their scholarship, this happens much less frequently.
