Wesley Harris

West Virginia Basketball Coach Bob Huggins has been on a roll over the past couple months with building the 2017 class. Friday afternoon he added the final piece to that puzzle with the commitment of JUCO F Wesley Harris.

Harris, a 6’8 200 lbs. forward from Lawson State (AL), gives the Mountaineers their 5th commit in the 2017 class and becomes the 2nd JUCO prospect in this class. Harris transferred to Lawson State this season after spending his first season at Northeast Mississippi where he recorded 18.2 PPG and 8.4 RPG.

Harris will give Coach Huggins another “hybrid” type player to use in Press Virginia given that Harris can shoot the ball like a guard (35% from 3) but has the frame to play inside if needed. His biggest use will be in the press due to the length that Harris will provide to the Mountaineers defense.

After Coach Huggins spotted Harris while on a recruiting trip, he instantly made him the top priority and never let up on his pursuit. Shortly after extending an offer, Huggins got an official visit from Harris on October 22nd and all that work paid off this afternoon with his announcement.
