Morgantown, W.Va. – Tuesday afternoon head coach Neal Brown had some upsetting news for the members of the media present at Milan Puskar Stadium. Brown announced two injury updates for West Virginia’s offense effective immediately.
Following the loss to Texas, sophomore wide receiver Sean Ryan had surgery for an upper body injury. Brown pointed out that he hopes Ryan will be able to return back to the game later in the season.
“I hate it for Sean too, because he was starting to play really well,” Brown commented. “And the play he got hurt on he made a great play.”
Brown next announced that redshirt freshman Sam James is officially questionable for Saturday’s home game against the 3-2 Iowa State Cyclones. Brown stated that he would know more about James’ injury and status later this week.
Ryan will be missed in Saturday’s home game and it is hopeful that the pending news on the status of James brings good news.
