Mountaineers drop out of AP Top 25 after excruciating February

Morgantown, W.Va. – Week 18 of college basketball brought the darkest noon Monday update as the West Virginia Mountaineer’s officially dropped out of the AP Top 25 Poll.

The Mountaineers were previously ranked 20th last week and fell to unranked after losing both of their games.

Fellow Big 12 teams Kansas Jayhawks (1) and Baylor Bears (4) are both sitting atop the poll.

The Mountaineers travel to Ames, Iowa to take on the Iowa State Cyclones Tuesday in a must-win game before finishing out the regular season Saturday in Morgantown against the Baylor Bears.
