Mountaineers Gain Big Time LB Commit

Toledo Central Catholic High School linebacker Zach Sandwisch has been a target of the Mountaineer coaching staff for quite awhile now, and today the talented 6’2″ 215 lb linebacker has made his college choice official with his commitment to WVU.

Sandwisch has been a target of defensive coordinator Tony Gibson for a long time, and with the departures that will face the Mountaineers at the linebacker position next season , his commitment is almostĀ a necessity for the defense.

Sandwisch was on campus this past weekend for the Mountaineers Junior Day and the start of spring practice. He walked away with a better impression of the football program than he previously had. This past weekend was not his first trip to Morgantown as he was also on campus for the first Junior Day of the year at the end of January.

Sandwisch has always been impressed with what the Mountaineers have to offer both on the football field and in the classroom. The views of the coaching staff as to how he fits in their 3-3-5 scheme has been the biggest factor in his recruitment, but like many others heĀ loves the atmosphere and passion at WVU.
