Mountaineers Land Coveted Running Back

WVU has secured another commitment for the 2016 class with RB Martell Pettaway announcing this afternoon he has committed to the Mountaineers. This commit gives the Mountaineers 6 in the month of June alone and 13th overall for the 2016 class.

Pettaway, 5’10 210 lbs. back from Detroit Martin Luther King High School (MI), had visited Morgantown back in April and his relationship with position coach JaJuan Seider is a big reason he choose WVU. Pettaway is a tough runner that will give the Mountaineers a physical presence at the running back position but also has game breaking speed in the open field. He was also┬áranked as a Top 10 back in the state of Michigan.

Pettaway held offers from Cincinnati, Eastern Michigan, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan State, Vanderbilt, and Western Michigan before deciding on the Mountaineers. Pettaway is rated a 3 star prospect by BGS.
