It was the worst kept secret that an offer from Tennessee could swing WVU OL commit Nathan Niehaus to the Volunteers and today he made it official. The talented line prospect switched his commitment from WVU to Tennessee this evening which will make the WVU coaching staff turn the heat up on other OL prospects on their board.

Niehaus, 6’6 259 lbs. offensive tackle from Colerain (OH) caught the eye of the Mountaineer coaching staff during their July 25th summer camp when he was awarded an MVP and an offer which quickly turned into a commit. It seemed that he would remain a Mountaineer set to sign on National Signing Day but the Volunteers swooped in and made an offer. Given his ties to the university, Niehaus quickly made an official visit to Knoxville and the writing was on the wall from there.

With Niehaus no longer on board, which we have to remember how the coaching staff reacted last season when a prospect visited another school while he was committed to WVU, look for the coaching staff to turn their attention to JUCO OL Malcolm Pridgeon, who has the Mountaineers near the top of his list.
