Mountaineers set for Fall Circuit

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (Oct. 22, 2020) – Members of the West Virginia University tennis team open their fall season on Friday, Oct. 23, as they begin play at the 2020 Fall Circuit, at the Summit Tennis Academy, in Morgantown.

The Fall Circuit is presented by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) and Universal Tennis.

Due to safety precautions from the COVID-19 pandemic, only essential match operations personnel and families of the players and WVU tennis staff will be admitted into the Summit Tennis Academy.

There will be no live stats for this weekend’s tournament. The draw for this weekend and a recap of each day’s action will be posted on WVUsports.com.

“We are all excited to get to compete against outside competition this weekend,” WVU coach Miha Lisac said. “It’ll be a good way to gauge each one of our players this weekend.”

This weekend’s tournament will consist of one draw of 32 players and a first-round consolation bracket. The tournament model will feature singles play only, and players were selected for entry based on their Universal Tennis Rating (UTR). Senior Anne-Sophie Courteau and freshmen Amber Fuller and Momoko Nagato will compete in this weekend’s event.

Friday’s matches are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. ET, while Saturday and Sunday’s matches will begin at 8 a.m.
