Neal Brown Adds Louisville Safeties Coach ShaDon Brown to Staff

MORGANTOWN W.Va- The Mountaineers are expected to hire Louisville Cardinals safeties coach ShaDon Brown as their new co-defensive coordinator, according to Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports.

Brown is expected to replace the duties of Jahmile Addae, who left West Virginia for Georgia last week. ShaDon is expected to share the duties with Jordan Lesley, who Addae shared the responsibilities with last season.

A native of Danville, Kentucky, ShaDon graduated from Boyle County High School, the same high school that both Neal Brown and wide receiver Reese Smith attended.

ShaDon brings years of coaching experience with him to Morgantown. Besides the University of Louisville where he has been since 2018, Brown previously coached the defensive backs as a whole at the University of Colorado Boulder and Wofford College, and spent a year coaching the cornerbacks at Army.

Brown is the fourth Louisville assistant coach to leave this offseason after the Cardinals finished the season 4-7, including 3-7 in the ACC conference under Scott Satterfield.

Brown will inherit one of the nation’s top returning defenses in 2021 that includes All Big-12 second team Mountaineers Dante Stills and Tykee Smith and freshman All-American Akheem Mesidor.
