WVU has always been very familiar with many high schools with it’s football recruiting, Miramar High School as an example, and they have used their relationship with the programs to their advantage. But now it appears the Mountaineers might be using a former player to start a new pipeline.
When Clint Trickett decided to retire from football in December, there was an ongoing assumption that the Mountaineers would offer him a coaching position on their staff and many were surprised when he was bypassed and accepted a position at East Mississippi Community College, but maybe there was a plan all along by the WVU coaching staff.
On Monday night the Mountaineers offered highly regarded running back prospect Dacorius (D.J.) Law from East Mississippi C.C. and the person that announced the offer via social media was former Mountaineer quarterback Clint Trickett.

Now with the new offer in hand this evening, there is a question around Mountaineer Nation, “Is there a new recruiting pipeline on the horizon for WVU?”
